Geòrgia l’ha cagat. Els russos controlen completament la situació. Però, per què els georgians van atacar? Els russos han estat provocant des de fa anys, és cert. Es tracta d’un ham? Han picat els georgians? I la OTAN, els americans i europeus van donar llum verda? O això és el que ha volgut entendre el president georgià? Sigui com sigui, Geòrgia serà el que vulgui Rússia i, ara sí, mai no recuperarà les dues províncies que ha perdut. Per cert, aquestes províncies són avui, en teoria, georgianes, perquè així ho van voler els bolxevics quan van dibuixar els bojos mapes del Caucas. Quin merder.

Escrivint la tesi em vaig enganxar a l’editor TextMate, el qual, és no modal (diguem que s’assembla més a l’Emacs que al Vim). El problema d’aquest editor és que no és lliure i, a més, no és multiplataforma, fet que dificultaria seriosament les meves intencions de tornar a GNU/Linux en un futur no gaire llunyà (el mac mola, però linux mola més i et fa més autònom). Així doncs, vaig començar a emprar l’Emacs, i m’hi estic enganxant. Sobretot, a l’extensió org-mode, que permet organitzar la teva vida (good bye RTM [1]), de manera molt eficient, en mode text. Qui ho diria!

- Emacs for vi users – This is intended as an introductory guide for vi users wishing to learn the basics of Emacs. I'm writing it because I'm one of them, and I suspect that I'm not alone in being mystified by the lack of a command mode, text objects and an underlying ex editor, as well as the plethora of strange and unfamiliar key combinations. The intent is to give fledgling Emacs users a basic set of commands, sufficient for basic editing.
This page is not about religion, and I will not present one editor as better than the other, nor is it about the Emacs mindset, since I have yet to acquire it myself. It is, however, about familiarity, and (quite naturally) assumes a vi-centric view of the world. Since the structure is that of a list of corresponding commands, I will not list features that are specific to Emacs. I believe there to be sufficient overlap between the capabilities of each editor to motivate this approach.
