• Living on the edge — ShuttleX - Sembla que la propera Ubuntu funcionarà força bé al MacBook:

  Ubuntu 8.10 was the best surprise. I’ve done some testing of Ubuntu on my Mac before, not always with the best results. This time however everything was up and running with the first attempt. The sound part is still somewhat buggy, but that is the case on Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) as well. I’m also not happy with the way the trackpad works, no easy way to get right/secondary mouse button functionality, also the same as on Hardy.

  On the upside with Intrepid - it’s fast and stable. At least it’s fast an stable for me. I’m not trying to get everyone jumping on the alpha/beta/pre release wagon here, I just felt the need to express my (pleasant) surprise of the stability and quality of all of these pre release applications.

• /ekesken: back to the debian! - Aquest article descriu molt bé les meves sensacions quan vaig posar Ubuntu al MacBook. Linux no està optimitzat per aquest hardware, a diferència del Mac OS, i en comparar això es nota. És una llàstima. Caldria que un fabricant fes de linux la seva marca de casa. M'encantaria tenir un UbuntuBook. Un ordinador preciós optimitzat per Ubuntu. Quin fabricant s'hi llançarà?
• VilaWeb - El traductor de Google inclou el català - Google Translate, el traductor de Google, ha incorporat el català entre les trenta-dues llengües disponibles actualment. Es tracta d'un traductor bi-direccional amb què es poden traduir paraules i textos sencers i mitjançant el qual també es poden traduir webs al moment. Així doncs, les webs en català es poden traduir a una trentena de llengües diferents, com l'àrab, l'anglès, el japonès o el rus, i viceversa: webs de trenta llengües diferents poden ser traduïdes al català.
